Whaddya say we mix things up a bit?

For some of our artists it just isn't enough for them to stick with one medium when making Sam and Jack pretties.  So what are you gonna do when you are inspired to combine pics and gifs and digital drawings? You come up with great pieces of art like the ones featured in the Art category for Best Mixed-Media.

Best Mixed-Media

Any work created by combining two or more of the methods mentioned in our Art categories (i.e., hand drawn, computer drawn, animation, photo-based, or comic/manga/graphic novel).  For example mixing hand drawn elements with photo-based art.

The Shipper Map aka The Kingdom of Eternal Optimism
by Josiane

"The place where shippers dwell, where the clouds are always fluffy, the caverns suitably angsty, the gutters are splashful and Sam and Jack are together forever." -- from Josiane's online Shiptionary

Centered around every shippers favorite moment, that "Always," that promise, that confirmation of feelings that was never a true on-screen confirmation, Josiane's kingdom truly includes every shipper's favorite places to dwell. So let yourself go on a shippy adventure as you travel through the Kingdom. Check out the ship from another perspective. Pick a category you've shied away from and give it a chance because we're all shippers and whether you prefer fluffy fanfic and vids with hearts, flowers, and rainbows or you prefer to keep it dark, angsty, and pull-at-your-heart borderline dreadful, we all can agree that when it comes to Sam and Jack, it doesn't really matter how they get together as long as they get together in the end.

This is great
by thepurplebus

The most fabulous fishing scene ever gets a little nudge in the direction we all think it should have taken as thepurplebus merges real life Sam and Jack with comic book squeedom.  This is such a unique piece of art.  Look at how the pixels blur from top to bottom to create the transition from photo to drawing. "Let's not dwell."  Oh, yes, let's!  Because what a wonderful moment to dwell on.  We all have our own speculations about what really happened at the cabin after Threads and it's pieces of art like this that truly make us sit back, *shippy sigh*, and let our imaginations fill in the blanks.

You had me at "Are we gonna have to arm wrestle?"
by angievonasgard

angievonasgard is at it again, creating yet another truly unique and amazing piece of shippy artwork.  Sighs can be heard all around the world as shippers lazily gaze at the wonderfully shippy images she chose from the start of the series to what most shippers feel was the true end. Touches, glances,  the force shiled, "always," and "C'mere," none are left behind in this tribute to our favorite twosome.  The subtle switches in color including the transitions from black and white to color and contrast of the dark gif that begins the piece and the light gif that ends it all combine together in a fabulously shippy blend of angst, desire, and unrequited love.
