Weekly Digest of Changes

The title this week is slightly different: after a brief discussion the committee has decided we will not keep up the weekly list of website changes. There simply aren't enough changes these days to make a whole list of at the end of the week, so we're gonna include updates on our website, the Awards in general and all our social media accounts in the weekly digest of changes.

Let's get started!

  • A lot of new nominations  have rolled in and can be found on our website; take a look!
  • We are now actively using our LiveJournal for, among other things, overviews of noms, lists of lost nominees we're trying to get in touch with and promoting the Awards via our promo art made by SCIMM and XFChemist
  • A new interview with a nominator has been posted on the blog
  • A special thanks to Ikorni has been added to our blog, for some of the wonderful you can find on our LJ and Picasa album. Feel free to use it to promote the Awards elsewhere online!
  • Slight alterations have been made to the descriptions of some fanfiction categories on our website to clarify them after we had to reject a few:
    • Best Characterization of Jack Nominations in this category can be works of any length, genre or rating. The work is being judged on how well the author portrayed Jack O'Neill, not necessarily on the work as a whole. However, there must be at least some shippy undertones in the story for it to qualify.
    • Best Characterization of Other Canon Character Nominations in this category can be works of any length, genre or rating. The work is being judged on how well the author portrayed any canon character other than Jack O'Neill or Samantha Carter, not necessarily on the work as a whole. Nominations in this category must include the name of the character to be considered. However, there must be at least some shippy undertones in the story for it to qualify.
    • Best Characterization of Sam Nominations in this category can be works of any length, genre or rating. The work is being judged on how well the author portrayed Samantha Carter, not necessarily on the work as a whole. However, there must be at least some shippy undertones in the story for it to qualify.
    • Best Drama Drama is a genre that relies on the emotional and relational development of realistic characters. Often, dramatic themes are taken from intense, real life issues. Whether heroes or heroines are facing a conflict from the outside or a conflict within themselves, Drama aims to tell an honest story of human struggles.

That was it for week 22! We're committed to bringing you the best awards experience we can. If you run in to problems with our social presence, the website or have questions, comments or suggestions, please don't hesitate to let us know!

See you all next week, for a new update!
